Visible Mending for Beginners: Mend It, Don't End It
Got a favourite pair of jeans with a hole? A shirt that's torn? A jumper that needs a
little love? Don't throw it away - bring it along and let's see what we can do!
In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn simple visible mending techniques that can
give worn or damaged clothing a new lease of life. We'll celebrate stitches, patches
and colour, turning repairs into something individual and creative.
You're welcome to bring along a garment that needs mending, such as jeans, shirts,
knitwear or jackets.
We'll explore:
 Simple hand-sewing techniques for complete beginners
 How to look at a hole, tear or worn area and decide what it needs
 Adding patches to strengthen and repair clothing
 Decorative stitches that can turn a repair into a feature
 Easy ways to keep mending your clothes at home
You'll leave with new skills, more confidence and, hopefully, a much-loved item of
clothing ready for many more wears.
No sewing experience needed - just bring yourself and, if you have one,
something you'd like to mend.
